About The Elixir
Now an inactive show, The Elixir was a weekly one-hour segment on the University of Mary Washington’s WMWC Campus Radio, airing from 2024 to 2025. A 2025 alumna of UMW, Layla McGovern, began this show in her third year of undergraduate studies, playing and discussing rock and alternative music.

About the Dj
Layla McGovern is a graduate student at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. She became an alumna of the University of Mary Washington in May 2025, having double-majored in English and Digital Communications. She previously held two social media internships with a non-profit organization and startup film festival, both based in Fredericksburg, VA. While hosting The Elixir during her third and fourth years of undergraduate studies, she interviewed independent artists, facilitated events, and wrote music-focused articles for WMWC.
